Overview:

Bandipur is a small but beautiful village situated on a hilltop offering the magnificent vista of Himalayas and Marshyangdi River. Located in the Tanahu district some 140km west of Kathmandu and 60km east of Pokhara; Bandipur is known for its beautiful scenery. This momentous Newari settlement is still intact without a blemish of modernization and is adorned by traditional houses and temples ornamented with historical art and architecture. This medieval town possesses festival throughout the whole year. The Brahmin and Chhetri villages situated nearby add cultural diversity to this region.  Situated at the altitude of 1,005m this village seems to carry a lot of mysteries some of them are discovered while some are still waiting for their turn. Once upon a time not too long ago this place used to be the commercial center linking Tibetan and British.

Situated as the hilltop under the awning of Pine and Sal forests the village not only overlooks the implausible stretch of Marshyangdi River valley but also grants the magical vista of Himalayan range which includes Dhaulagiri, Annapurna, Manaslu and Ganesh Himal. From the adjoining hilltops you too can see Gorkha in the East and Chitwan in the south. The eye-popping factors of this tour are visit to Siddha Cave (largest cave in the country) and Patali Dwar( gateway to Heaven). Apart from these the surrounding hills also offers infinite hiking possibilities. 

Itinerary Detail

Bandipur Village Tour Itinerary

Day 1: Kathmandu Arrival
In airport our local representative will receive you and get transferred to the hotel. In hotel you will freshen up have some food and drive to our office for the briefing of your trip.

Day 2: Kathmandu Sightseeing
In the morning we will have the lunch and start to explore the historical city of Kathmandu. The places we will pay our visit are the holy temple of Pashupatinath which is located in the bank of Bagmati and the stupa of Bodhanath which dates back to 7th century. We will also visit the monkey temple of Swoyambhunath situated in the hilltop looking Kathmandu city and also visit Patan city which is known for its fine arts and architecture. Drive back to hotel have dinner and get to bed.

Day 3: Drive to Bandipur
We will catch a tourist bus from Kathmandu to Bandipur which is at the distance of 148km and takes 4hours. As we reach Bandipur we will be greeted by the loom of Himalayan vista which includes Dhaulagiri, Machhapuchhare, Langtang, Manaslu and Ganesh Himal. Today we will visit Bindabasini Temple, temple of Khadga Devi and stroll around traditional Bandipur village. Stay overnight at hotel.

Day 4: Hike to Ramko
We will hike uphill to the Magar village of Ramko to witness their tradition or lifestyle. If the weather is fair enough the village offers the phenomenal vista of Annapurna and Manaslu. In the evening we will explore Raniban. Stay overnight at Bandipur.

Day 5: Explore Siddha Cave
Early in the morning we will trek to Siddha cave following the dense forest for around two hours. This recently discovered cave is 437m long and 45m high which makes it the largest cave in whole Asia. Further, trek down to Bimalnagar to witness the traditional Newar village. Drive back to Bandipur. Stay overnight at hotel.

Day 6: Drive back to Kathmandu
Have breakfast early in the morning and catch a ride to Kathmandu. In the afternoon you can do some family shopping and walk around Thamel.

Day 7: Farewell
At the time of your flight, transfer to Tribhuwan International Airport for you onward Journey.
