Overview:

If mountain biking is your style of getting high and wish to experience Nepal as much as possible then Mountain biking can be the best alternative. This five day trip takes you to the ridge top trail which surrounds the Kathmandu valley. While cycling we will make our way through the hushed dirty roads away from the concrete jungle and the hustle and bustle of the city. This short ride introduces us to the small villages, hidden temples and regal vista of snow capped Himalayas from Makalu to Annapurna’s. During the period of this journey we will experience the views, sounds, tastes and aura of Middle hills of Nepal. We will be cycling along the historic cities of Patan and Bhaktapur, Hill station of Nagarkot which offers magical view of sunrise, timeless monasteries and picturesque villages inhibited by people belonging to different ethnic group. Throughout the whole journey a vehicle carrying all of our gears and other necessities will be following us. 

Itinerary Detail

Kathmandu Valley Biking Itinerary

Day 01: Kathmandu Arrival
In airport our local representative will receive you and get transferred to the hotel. In hotel you will freshen up have some food and drive to our office for the briefing of your trip.

Day 02: Kathmandu Sightseeing
In the morning we will have the lunch and start to explore the historical city of Kathmandu. The places we will pay our visit are the holy temple of Pashupatinath which is located in the bank of Bagmati and the stupa of Bodhanath which dates back to 7th century. We will also visit the monkey temple of Swoyambhunath situated in the hilltop looking Kathmandu city and also visit Patan city which is known for its fine arts and architecture. Drive back to hotel have dinner and get to bed.

Day 03: Biking
We will jumpstart with a classic mountain bike trail of 50kms through Patan to Lubhu through the shaky track to the calm Newari village of Sisneri. This village is a photographer’s paradise offering the colorful foray of village with the Himalayas in the backdrop. After the 500m of steep downhill ride we will be at Panauti which is the home to Indreshwar Mahadev temple which is the oldest temple of Nepal. Stay overnight camping in a riverside.

Day 04:
Today you can either cycle directly to Dhulikhel or follow the more thrilling track which goes through the holy site of Namo Buddha and then to Dhulikhel. We will cover the distance of 35kms. We will set our camp in Dhulikhel which offers the magical view of sun setting and great loom of Himalayas.

Day 05:
Today we will go downhill through the pitch road which takes us to historical city of Bhaktapur. In Bhaktapur we will have lunch and explore the art and architecture of the city. In the afternoon we will cycle to the hill station of Nagarkot where we will set our camp for the overnight stay.

Day 06:
In Nagarkot early in the morning we will be granted the magical view of sunrise over the long loom of Himalayas from Makalu to Annapurnas. Making our way through the terrain we will continue the ride traversing the ridges of Kattike, Manichup and Chipu Dara. After completing the 40kms of today’s journey we will arrive to Chisopani where we will set our camp for night stay. Chisopani offers the magnificent vista of Annapurna’s.

Day 07:
Today is last day of our trip and we will make our way to second highest hill surrounding the valley THE SHIVAPURI 2732m. Before hitting our way back to Kathmandu we will be served with one of the best downhill rides of the area.

Day 08: Farewell
At the time of your flight, transfer to Tribhuwan International Airport for you onward Journey.
